I've never understood this game. I've read the rules but I have a hard time putting it all together. Is there a patient person who would be willing to play a teaching game with me. (You'll probably with, if that helps)

I'm not go'ing much myself, right now, but even if I was, I'd rather recommend you to have a go at the excellent interactive tutorial at http://321go.org, and to have a few games against a program (e.g. qGo) in a small board (first 9x9, then 13x13) while you go through the tutorial. Can't get much more patient than computers, you can learn at your own pace, and no one gets bored. Wink

Once you have an idea of what the go is going around on the board, put your mettle to the kettle in an real time server (like IGS), were the real fun is. You can play against other novices or even advanced players in an even game, using a handicap, which makes it challenging for both.

This and more info can be found in this older thread.

Cheers!

(P.S: dear moderator, I just wanted to know what the pretty blue button was for, sorry for reporting myself Razz)
