Invitation to you!
Because I claim every year the worlds best „Ponte del diavolo“ player, I decided this year to be more objective and to invite the best players at the beginning of November to a closed tournament with the seven best player of every site where PdD will be played. A great „Thank you“ to Bram Schoonhoven, who will make it possible on the Dutch site jijbent.nl.
I will now try to contact those best players. If there are some players on more then one site, first those on yourturnmyturn, then those additional on jijbent and then those of brettspielnetz and finally those on yucata. I will make also a call at boardgamegeek for those, who are face to face gamers, to register themself on brettspielnetz, because there they have the best chance to come to the top in time, if they are really good.
30. Oktober is the deadline for the top list of the best seven!

I am not sure, if all who gave their o.k. are on board (have signed in on ytmt), but bram will start the closed tournament at Monday (after weekend).

First round of the tournament will be finished soon.
The Winner og Group I : Chemtox (ytmt) 12 points and Elitephoenix (jijbent) 10 points will play in the second round against the winner of Group II : Vinnie (jijbent) 10 points and samtrees (on yucata "sambushes") 10 points.
I am sorry, that no one from brettspielnetz is in too. We see the great expierence of the jijbent site.

In the final round between chemtox and Elitephoenix they play a interesting, but strange game. With three "windmills in close diagonal direction they build a block of wasted land.

My guess is Chemtox! But I may be a little biased. Razz

In that game, I proposed Phoenix to do a right and proper 8x8 checkered wasteland... but he changed his mind without warning! (right after I *theorized* about changing my own mind, but still! Wink

). I'm probably going to get some sea sickness pills, the resulting game has been as dizzying as interesting.

It's been great fun, as it always is with Ponte, with some very close encounters, and some surprises (my money was on Matter too, on the first round; and Samtrees' seems to be with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs! He would probably be in the final if it wasn't for the paperwork). It also helps that the cat is away... Wink

A "vielen dankeschön" Martin, for a beautiful game and your dedication to make it even more fun to play. Smile
