Chess seems to be reasonably popular here.
How about introducing one (or both) of the well established Oriental versions of chess: chinese chess xiangqi, or japanese chess shogi?
I for one would rather support shogi. It is deep enough and lots of fun. The fact that one may reposition captured pieces may be harder to implement, but to my mind it could be worth it. Lots of chess fans could relax and diversify their interests by playing a fresh game, with fresh rules and new pieces.
Also, draws occur much less often in shogi.
