Zoo is shortened from zoological garden(s) and since abbreviations are not allowed, is ZOO removed from the Wordlist.

hi marianne - if u wont accept it for zoological garden
how about this definition
zoo is a compression program and format developed by Rahul Dhesi in the mid 1980s. The format is based on the LZW compression algorithm and compressed files are identified by the .zoo file extension. Binaries were also published for the MS-DOS user community. ...

Marianne,

Please add the word tax unless it's not allowed.

How can I make a sticky post?
Maybe an idee to do so for new words?

Fax is an abbreviation (short) for facsimile and therefore not allowed.
See wordrules: http://www.yourturnmyturn.com/rules/wordgame.php
Slang, Abbreviations and Geographical names are not allowed.

Fax is not only rooted from facsimile, but also a verb: Can you fax that document?
May I ask the meaning of the word eses, as used by my opponent? Thank you!

it seems that certain words that have fully entered the english language albeit abbreviated should still stand if they can be accepted as a word in their own right
so for example - zoo or fax are very commonly used words - and would be found in any normal word list. including the word list of that well known board game.

Commonly used words or not, they are abbreviatons en therefore not allowed in Wordgame.
