Is it possible to have smaller tournaments, for example 7 players with just a final and no semi-finals, for games that are less popular?

I love a lot of games on this site, but it would be awesome to see tournaments start a little more often.

Thank you very much!

Looks like no one cares Wink

Here we have been waiting for more than a week at Kahuna! We went up to 8/14 players, but back to 7 now. This will takes a month to fill up... that's such a no-sense.... #Mad #Mad

Maybe consider inviting more nonmembers who enjoy your game to the site?

Well I come here cause I don't have other people who enjoy it Wink

Here we have 8 ready since a month and nothing is happening because it's not flexible Sad

The tournaments stats shows it pretty good, there is a tournament starting every few months only! It would be a lot more frequent if it was a smaller group...!

One thing is sure, this site needs more publicity! How active players are we... a 100? It's sad considering the vast choice of games!!

There are 975 'active' players here of which 117 are paying members.

Seriously, only Gandon and me think that big tournaments for *not much played* games are not the right thing?

Months ago I had suggested in the German section to introduce small tournaments for games that rarely start, and it was rejected, because it would trouble the programmers too much. Obviously their programming focus can be found somewhere else. Like here the user response was meagre.

As a test: I quickly changed the code without testing much so we can do tournaments of 7 for pick and pack and ponte del diavolo.

Please report to us any bugs and/or issues with tournaments... I think I did all needed changed, but testing is difficult except on the live environment Smile

Are there any plans to expand this procedure? Among the game types that still require 14 entrants to start, the least popular (according to total completions) dipole, tablut, subulata, castle danger, go, strategy, mill, and oware are still taking several weeks or months to draw enough players.

yes I added 4 that had less then 7 participants, the rest I can change as soon as a new tournament has started and there are less then 7 participants. Please post here when this is the case.
