If it becomes mathematically impossible for a player to win or draw a game of minesweeper (e.g. 14-4 with one mine left), would it be in bad taste for that player to resign?

IMO it's mandatory that all combatants in all battles cease hostilities when their ONLY outcome is a defeat.
