Probably.... a scrabble variant.

But we first need a lot more players before I can translate that game (it already exists in Dutch) and I need a English wordlist.

IF you ONLY need an English Word List may I suggest dwnloading Lexpert - this is a free download - and that has the latest SOWPODS and OSPD4 words. Unfortunately the words are NOT accessible as a direct list I dont think. So someone would have to laboriously go through all the words and make a list for this site. BUT I think I am correct in saying that it is as accurate as can be. There are SOME word game (well scrabble) sites that allow words from either SOWPODS or OSPD4 and that might be easier to implement rather than having two seperate lists.

If you are looking for players, I know of a few more people who would join for a scrabble variant (to play me). Build it they will come. Wink

I DO look forward to this scrable like variant becoming 'live' on this site.

I wonder IF you have given thought to how you will handle the rare occurence of a tied score in a game. It CAN happen. If it does will you treat the game as a draw OR will you have a similar rule to Scrabble which is that the player leading before the last move wins. This scrabble rule isnt well known and not everyone agrees with it but that IS the way Matchplay Scrabble is played.

End of the game
The game is finished if there are 3 passes in a row (on any moment in the game). The game is otherwise finished if 1 of the players doesn't have any letters anymore and there are no more letters in the game. On that moment the endscore is calculated. The endscore is the number of points the player has scored during the game, minus the points still on the rack of that player.

so yes, a draw can occur
