PostPosted: Tue Nov 11, 2008 16:57    Post subject: repetition draw? Reply with quote

this post is in regards to my checkers game game: 191157
We have repeated the same position 4 times. the last 3 of those times I offered a draw but it was declined. It appears we are going to continually repeat the same position? at some point is there a way for me to force a draw?

see the rules: After 25 moves in which no man is captured and/or no man is made king.

If that is the case you need to inform an admin and he/she will declare a draw.

Sad its not at 25 yet. oh well I guess I'll just keep repeating the same position until it gets to 25 then I can claim the draw and the tourney can move on.

I think there should be a threefold repetition rule though cause having to redo the same exact sequence over 15 times before being able to get the draw seems kinda silly. especially since that game is holding up a whole tournament.

As Bram said earlier, from good players can expected that they see its a draw and give it a draw...

There is still a loophole if none of the players claims a draw after 25 moves without a man...

The reason is probably that it isn't a rule in checkers...
