Is it possible to reduce the penalty for hitting a mine to say THREE points? I've had several games already where in the early stages a player (Me and my oppoment) have hit mines just by bad luck. I just think the penalty for this ought to be LESS than what is gained by a correct deduction. Increase the penalty for a wrong guess also to THREE points to discourage pure guesswork.
Other than that, its an excellent two player game

Sorry to be blunt.... but it is rather st*** if you hit a mine by bad luck, you do not need to do that.. You can always click on a spot you are sure there is no mine! Just do not click on spaces you do not have information about!

Although that should be good advice, the scoring system is too KIND to players who guess a lot.

The penalty for incorrect guesses needs to be higher to discourage guessing.

I'm agree with Epsilonindi. Is it possible to change this rule?

I'm the opposite..poor guessing should be doubly punished. I'm in 2 games where both opponents are just making irrational guesses and being rewarded for them. The rules are the rules and you must adapt your game play to fit the game.
